RBI Update- Formation of new district in the State of Sikkim – Assignment of Lead Bank Responsibility- 13th February, 2023

Reserve Bank of India vide its Circular dated 13 th February, 2023 has informed that Government of Sikkim, vide Gazette Notification No.50/LR&DMD/ACQ/GOS dated December 20, 2021, had notified formation of a new district in the state of Sikkim. Accordingly, it has been decided to assign the lead bank responsibility of the new district, Soreng, as under:

Sr No Newly Created District Erstwhile District Lead Bank Responsibility assigned to District Working Code allotted to new district 1 Soreng West Sikkim (Gyalshing) State Bank of India 01V

The above District Working Code of the new district has been allotted for the purpose of BSR reporting by banks and there would be no change in the Lead Banks of the earlier districts and other districts in the state of Sikkim

This Circular is applicable to all the lead banks concerned and shall come into force with immediate effect.
