RBI Update - Reporting of FCNR (B) Deposits, ECB and OFCB mobilized under Reserve Bank’s Swap Facility
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has directed all Authorised Dealer (AD) Category-I banks to submit daily data, by 6:00 p.m., on FCNR (B) deposits, External Commercial Borrowings (ECBs), and Overseas Foreign Currency Borrowings (OFCBs) mobilized under the RBI’s swap facilities introduced through circulars dated June 8, 2026. The prescribed reporting formats for FCNR (B) deposits, ECBs, and OFCBs are provided in Annexures I, II, and III respectively, and must be submitted to the designated RBI email addresses. Banks are also required to submit NIL statements on days with no transactions (except Saturdays and holidays). Further, data relating to FCNR (B) deposits, ECBs, and OFCBs mobilized from June 8, 2026, until the issuance of these directions must be reported along with the first submission due on June 22, 2026.
